Site
Firestorm.nu was originally registered in August of 2005 and has gone through many changes over the years. I am also just returning from a long break from the designing world, as I was caught up in life and other important things. I was also uncertain about the site, not sure if I wanted to continue displaying art, writing and resources here. After all this time, I’ve decided that it’s simply something I enjoy too much to give up.
My former sites ( euphoric-whispers.net, lacrimae-spiritus.com ) later merged into what Firestorm is now and all contained large resource collections—there was everything from web layouts to photoshop brushes. I still have my old designs, but I don’t really like them anymore; my style has changed so much since their creation and I like to think that I have grown in the area of design, as well as the way that I code them. So, my resource collection has been cut in half as a result, but I still have all of my brushes available and plan to offer free designs again in the future.
Current Layout
My graphics are usually composed of different abstract elements that I create in various programs, some of which normally start out as nothing. I save a lot of incomplete fractals and 3D renders that I later combine in Photoshop to add lighting, brushing and different effects. The current design Soulfire was created in such a way, as is most of my abstract work. Some artists start out with a vision in mind, but I don’t. I just build and piece together my work from previous incomplete works.
If you’re curious, the programs I use are: Photoshop, Poser, Apophysis and Cinema 4D.
